Classical music featured regularly in the Ibiza NOW and Ibiza Heute, thanks to the ceaseless efforts of Margareta Kinsberger, a retired German lady of seemingly inexhaustible energy, wh0 was able to persuade some excellent classical musicians to visit Ibiza and was able to talk to the local Town Halls into hosting these events. It was a regular pleasure to translate her writings into English. Here is a short example

Throughout August, Pro Arte will be organising several classical concerts. On August 19th at 10pm, the woodwind quintet Sans Rigueur from Leipzig will perform a concert in the Cloister of the Ayuntamento Eivissa. This concert will be repeated on Saturday 21st at10pm in the church of Jesus. Pro Arte decided to invite these musicians again following last year’s big success. Since the foundation of the quintet in 1993, the ensemble has been giving concerts all over Germany. In the Musiksommer 97, by the German television channel NDR, the group could document their extraordinary talent. Their Ibiza program will include original pieces for wind instrument players by Franz Danzi, Ferenc Farkas and Jaques Ibert. Also, they will present a collection from Porgy and Bess by George Gershwin and the famous Carmen Suite by George Bizet. The entrance for these concerts is free, due to it being sponsored by the Committee of the Patron’s Festivities of Ibiza Town.

Pro Arte organisiert im heißen August weiterhin das ein oder andere klassische Konzerte. Am Samstag, 21. August um 21h spielt das Leipziger Holzbläser-Quintett "Sans Rigueur" im Patio der Kirche von San Antonio. Das Konzert wird am Sonntag, 22. August um 22h in der Kirche von Jesus wiederholt. Die Kulturvereinigung entschloß sich, das Ensemble nach dem letztjährigen Erfolg noch einmal einzuladen. Seit der Gründung der Formation 1993, ist das Ensemble mit unzähligen Konzerten im gesamten Bundesgebiet aufgetreten. Im "Musiksommer 97" des NDR konnten sie ihr außergewöhnliches Können dokumentieren. Auf Ibiza werden sie Originalstücke für Bläser von Franz Danzi, Ferenc Farkas und Jaques Ibert zum Besten geben. Weiterhin präsentieren sie eine Auswahl aus Porgy and Bess von George Gershwin und die berühmte Carmen-Suite von George Bizet.
Der Eintritt für beide Konzerte ist frei, da sie vom Kommitee der Patronatsfeierlichkeiten in Ibiza-Stadt subventioniert werden.
